چکیده

I In this repork we discuss the theory of the "candens& brstory tduique", an approximate mlutioa to the Boltzmam traaqmrt equation that sums tbe dect of up to thousands of d k c t e , small momturn transfer elastic and inch& collisions into single hgert&ct quasitvtnb. Tbis technique saves much ealcdationa1 effort at the expense of introducing errors that arc now understood quantitatirey in terms of the development p-td htreio. We apply ow -1ysb to m d m realizations of the condemed history method, namely those of EGSIPRESTA, ElXAWITC, FLUKA, PENELOPE, and LLCA. We haw also constructed an algorithm that exhibits smaIIer Iarge step size instabdities than all of these methds and give s e v d examples. GROWTH OF ZnS SINGLE CRYSTALS BY CVT TECHNIQUE UNDER DIFFERENT MASS TRANSPORT STABILITY CONDITIONS

Abstract: A thermodynamic model was used to find out the optimum temperature for the growth of ZnS single crystals in closed ampoules by chemical vapor transport technique. Based on this model 1002 °C was found to be optimum temperature for 2 mg/cm3 concentration of transporting agent (iodine). ZnS Crystals were grown in optimum (1002 °C) and non-optimum (902 °C and 1102 °C) temperatures. The c...

A Monte-Carlo code for the detailed simulation of electron and light-ion tracks in condensed matter.

In an effort to understand the basic mechanism of the action of charged particles in solid radiation dosimeters, we extend our Monte-Carlo code (MC4) to condensed media (liquids/solids) and present new track-structure calculations for electrons and protons. Modeling the energy dissipation process is based on a model dielectric function, which accounts in a semi-empirical and self-consistent way...

A Generalized Boltzmann Fokker-Planck Electron Transport Method

We present a transport-based method for electrons that incorporates the correct transport mechanics and is computationally efficient for implementation in single event Monte Carlo codes. The method yields accurate dose profiles across a broad range of energies in heterogeneous media and presents a viable alternative to the established condensed history method. Our approach is mathematically rig...

Electron transport properties of single molecular junctions under mechanical modulations.

Electron transport behaviors of single molecular junctions are very sensitive to the atomic scale molecule-metal electrode contact interfaces, which have been difficult to control. We used a modified scanning probe microscope-break junction technique (SPM-BJT) to control the dynamics of the contacts and simultaneously monitor both the conductance and force. First, by fitting the measured data i...

Effect of asymmetric quantum dot rings in electron transport through a quantum wire

The electronic conductance at zero temperature through a quantum wire with side-connected asymmetric quantum ring (as a scatter system) is theoretically studied using the non-interacting Hamiltonian Anderson tunneling method. In this paper we concentrate on the configuration of the quantum dot rings. We show that the asymmetric structure of QD-scatter system strongly influences the amplitude an...
